About Toronto Metropolitan University
Toronto Metropolitan University is a public research university. It was originally known as the Ryerson Institute of Technology. However, in order to reflect Ryerson’s emergence as a full-fledged university, the new name of Ryerson University was approved by the Provincial government. In 2022, the University was renamed to Toronto Metropolitan University.
