A: 

Students studying at the Alexander College are allowed to enrol in part-time jobs. The Work Permit Program  allows the international students studying at the Alexander College to work in off-campus jobs. 

Starting from Jun 1, 2014, there's a rule called R186 (v) that allows specific students to work off-campus without needing a work permit. They can work for up to 20 hours a week during the regular academic session and full-time during scheduled breaks, but a few conditions must be met:

  • They must be full-time students enrolled at a designated learning institution.
  • The programme they're in must be either a post-secondary academic, vocational, or professional training program, or a vocational training programme at the secondary level in Quebec.
  • The programme they're enrolled in should be at least six months or longer, leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
  • They need to continue following the terms and conditions of their study permit and the off-campus work conditions, like not working more than 20 hours a week during a regular academic session.
