Master of Engineering Management (MEM) - Batch of 2023
3.9
Short course with very good education and hectic lifestyle
Tips: Be prepared to go through a tight schedule for the next 15 months. Make good connections with seniors well before coming to campus and learn how to network with people. I'm very satisfied with the course. All is good and I am happy.
Likes (Indian Food): There are quite a good number of restaurants of every cuisine around the campus. Korean, Thai, Mexican, Indian, Nepalese and a lot more. I prefer cooking as it gets expensive if you eat out every day. My fav was 10q and hokkaido near the campus.
Dislikes (Student Life): It's a 15-month course. You'll be in job and intern search for 3-6 months totally together, although social life is not good, due to limited time of 9-12 months free time, it depends on person to person. There are a lot of clubs in the university you should be proactive and explore various clubs on the campus. My fav is NU Adventure.

Quite an adventure here.
Tips: My experience here has been a rollercoaster ride with a lot of twists and turns. There are a number of on-campus options and part-time opportunities such as research, tutoring, and on-campus stores among more. The professors are open and kind enough to help us out with doubts or questions. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Master of Science in Robotics and Autonomous Systems - Batch of 2025

4.5
Boston University is a bit expensive and the market is slow.
Tips: The city and the school are a bit expensive, and I would suggest that students have a clear or at least a vague idea of what they want to do. I would suggest they find a lab of interest and join as soon as possible. I personally got my allowance from my parents and did some parting on the campus as well.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at Boston University is very helpful. You can approach the faculty at all times. I also enjoyed the hands-on experience that some courses provided. It was fun to put what I had learned into practice. In addition, I found that the faculty was very diverse, which added to my overall experience.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are various companies that will offer to sponsor your visas. There are a variety of job roles and salary packages being offered. It totally depends on the role you are looking for. Although the market is a bit down we need to work on ourselves to stay different from others.

MS in Artificial Intelligence - Batch of 2024

An academically enriching experience with a vibrant campus life.
Tips: Boston University offers a rigorous academic experience, but it also provides plenty of support to ensure success. The faculty is deeply involved in research, and the university offers numerous opportunities for hands-on learning. It is important to be involved in student activities and clubs to make use of all the resources available. Moving to Boston was a cultural shift, especially adjusting to the colder weather and a different pace of life.

The university is decent but very expensive.
Tips: Students should know that this course gives you a glimpse of the corporate culture here and the outline of all management courses. I can pursue it just to have some international experience. ROI is not great. It is too expensive for a one-year program. It is structured well and offers the opportunity to work with real-life clients.

Expensive but worth it experience. It makes you grow and learn the art of thinking out of the box.
Tips: Students should know that there are scholarships, but mostly given to first-intake students. It's an expensive city but with a lot of diversity. There is a lot to do on campus and off campus, but international students don't mingle quicker to avail of those opportunities. BU is big on ice hockey, so if you are a true terrier, you have to watch all those games.
Likes (Student Life): The campus life is constantly happening and amazing. There are either professional or fun events happening somewhere, and the university makes sure that they are marketed well, plus there's free food and drinks. There is a BU pub on campus, and every Tuesday it is a random topic trivia night, and Wednesday is meant for karaoke nights.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are enough on-campus job opportunities, mostly revolving around the kitchen and food. For MSMS, we don't get a chance to be a teacher's assistant since it is a small programme and you are required to have completed the subject on campus before applying for the TA. But some people still worked at a maximum of 20 hours per week, but in my opinion, the pay is not that great.

MPH Public Health and MBA Health Sector Management - Batch of 2024
Offered by Boston University
4.3
Challenging yet rewarding journey of growth, adaptation, resilience and survival.
Tips: Students should know that the community here is pretty inclusive, but being an international student can make you feel homesick. One also struggles most with the first semester because of the stark change in the education pattern from India, where only one final exam decides your grade. Here, grading is based on your performance throughout the semester until a course is completed. So, you have to keep up with the assignments and group projects and meet the deadlines besides managing your daily chores and part-time jobs. Most group projects have a peer review where group members rate each other's contributions. This is done to ensure a fair share of work among the teammates so that one person doesn’t get heavily burdened with group work while another person can get away without doing anything. But after the first semester, you start becoming comfortable with this pattern and will start enjoying the practical way of work and education more than just mugging up things and writing in your exam and eventually forgetting. Here, some courses even have open-book exams, and it will be difficult to take if one is not aware of the subject matter, and the concepts of a particular subject must be clear to take the exam. Additionally, often you have to present to the whole class, so you have to come out of your comfort zone and hesitate to address a whole class. Every student gets scholarships, but the amount might vary with each student and also with each year. It is called a merit-based scholarship, and one is automatically considered for this without any separate application. Two years back they were giving around 20% scholarships of the total tuition fees, but gradually they have started to increase the amount as per the recent data, but it is always random. The university and the course are expensive. But the employment rate has been good so far, and this country definitely has a lot of opportunities but is also becoming very competitive at the same time.
Likes (Safety): Boston as a city is safe compared to other cities in the United States. They teach the MPH course on the medical campus, where you have to have card access to gain entry into any of the buildings. The Charles River campus is at the heart of the city at Commonwealth Avenue and it’s always crowded with students. Moreover, the Public Safety guys from the Boston University Police Department are always at work to ensure a safe and secure environment for all the students, faculty, and other staff. Boston University also runs its free shuttle service and it is very reliable so one can also avoid public transportation if they are unsure. However, in case of any kind of emergency, calling 911 always helps. So far, Boston is one of the most safest and student-friendly cities.
Dislikes (Value for money): Boston University no doubt holds a strong place for MPH candidates. But it is pretty expensive compared to the entry-level salaries one can get after graduating. Students are awarded scholarships but oftentimes it’s not sufficient to reduce the financial burden. So, if one has financial constraints they should reconsider applying to this school. One cannot expect to land a high-paying job right after graduation with an MPH from BU given the heavy investment.

A transformative journey at Boston University
Tips: Transitioning here can initially be a little daunting as it's a new country and you will need to adjust to a lot of changes in personal as well as academic life. What makes it easier is that people in the town, as well as the University, are really nice and helpful throughout, you have to be prepared to give time to your academics as well as some time to exploring the city and learning new things.
