The University of the South Pacific (USP) is regarded as a well-known public research university with locations spread throughout different countries in Oceania. It is considered as an excellent international center for teaching, research consulting, training and other aspects of the Pacific culture and environment. The university is presently owned by the governments of 12 Pacific Island countries, including Fiji, the Cook Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Marshall Islands, Niue, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tokelau, Tuvalu, Tonga and Vanuatu. Despite the multi-campus nature of the institution, the university does not function on a university system. It is a single university that has several branches located across the Pacific region. The academic programs featured by the university are recognized across the world and attract students from throughout the Pacific region and different geographical boundaries. In the region of Oceania, it has even been ranked as one among the top 50 institutions.
There are several campuses of the University of the South Pacific that are situated in different Pacific Islands countries. The Laucala Campus of the USP located in Fiji is its main campus which also operates as its administrative centre. Also, the university has two other satellite campuses in Fiji, Labasa and Lautoka. The university's Alafua Campus in Samoa is home to the School of Agriculture and Food Technology whereas The Emalus Campus serves as the location for the School of Law. The campus life at the university is entrusted with the responsibility of providing a healthy physical, social, spiritual and intellectual environment for the overall growth of the students. Be it Health and Wellness, Sports and Recreation, Campus Life Activities, Careers Centre & Services and Disability Resource and Access, the campus of the university is well-equipped with everything needed for a conducive learning environment.
The University of the South Pacific (USP) features numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate programs for the students to choose from. These courses and programs are offered across various faculties, including Faculty of Arts, Law and Education, Faculty of Business and Economics, Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment, Pacific Technical and Further Education and Pacific Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development. Several of the programs offered by the institutions are accredited by various institutions internationally.
