The Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand is offering a great option for outstanding international students to participate in their PhD programs through the university's Auckland University of Technology (AUT) Vice Chancellor’s and Doctoral Scholarships.

For AUT's Vice Chancellor's scholarships, interested candidates will be able to apply between December 1 to January 15, 2024. The last date to apply for Doctoral Scholarships is November 1, 2024.

AUT Vice-Chancellor’s Doctoral Scholarship Details

Vice-Chancellor’s Doctoral Scholarship offers an annual stipend of $33,000 other than tuition fees and mandatory student services fees for up to 3 years.

The following are the eligibility criteria for applying for the scholarship:

  • The candidate must be a new doctoral candidate.
  • Must have an unconditional offer of a place in the university's doctoral programme.
  • After being offered the scholarship, you must enrol into the AUT's doctoral programme within three months.
  • Should have completed the recent qualifying programme at a New Zealand tertiary institution with a GPA or 8.0
  • Māori and domestic Pacific applicants should have a GPA of 7.5 or above.

AUT Doctoral Scholarship

It also offers an annual stipend of $33,000 with mandatory student services fee for up to 3 years and tuition fees.

The following are the eligibility criteria:








  • It is open to all domestic and international candidates who meet the eligibility requirements for the doctoral programme.
  • The applicants must have received the doctoral programme's Offer of Place for AUT's doctoral programme.

Those who are applying for the university's Doctoral Scholarship will also be considered for a full-fee scholarship and the minimum living cost criteria for an Immigration NZ student visa or annual stipend is equivalent to a minimum of $20,000, whichever is highest.







AUT Doctoral Scholarships will accept applications in two categories including AUT Vice Chancellor's Doctoral Scholarships and AUT Doctoral Scholarships. Some general eligibility criteria include:

  • They must meet English language proficiency requirements at the time of application.
  • They should meet the normal admission criteria and have received the Offer of Place (OOP)
  • The students must have strong academic references, excellent academic records and potential for high quality research.
