Cleveland State University: Applications open for International Student Scholarships

Cleveland State University is currently accepting applications for International Student Scholarships. The last date to apply for the Fall semester 2024 scholarships is July 12, 2024. Under the scholarship scheme, the university is offering Graduate Assistantships.

"Assistantships are highly competitive and are limited. Please check with your academic department directly for more information about applying for an assistantship. Graduate assistants may receive compensation in the form of a tuition scholarship and/or living stipend," reads the official statement.

There are two types of assistantships being offered. One is Teaching Assistantships which are being offered to assist departments in carrying out their undergraduate instructional programs. The post will assist the faculty members by supervising laboratory sessions, evaluating student performance, assembling classroom materials, leading discussion groups, and carrying out other related instructional activities.

Another one is a Research Assistantship offered to assist staff members and faculty in conducting various research. These assistants are assigned to individuals working in a variety of areas in order to extend the research experience and professional development of graduate students.

Graduate Assistantships at Cleveland State University: More Details

For Indians, the graduate admission will be on the basis of a higher secondary school certificate. Graduate programs are a 4-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Bridge Program is available in Business for holders of a 3-year bachelor's degree. Graduate Assistantship is offered to the students who qualify at the time of their enrollment as regular graduate students. The university offers a Graduate Assistantship with a Scholarship and a Graduate Assistantship without a Scholarship.

Graduate Assistantship with a Scholarship includes a stipend and scholarship for 10, 15, or 20 hours of service per week. Graduate Assistantship without a Scholarship comprises stipends and scholarships for 5, 10, 15, or 20 hours of service per week.

"Other graduate scholarships may be available based on your academic program. Contact your academic department for scholarship availability and eligibility criteria. Please note that we are unable to offer any federal financial aid to international students," added the university.

How to apply for Graduate programs at Cleveland State University

The candidates must follow these steps:

Step 1: Apply online before submitting any supplemental documents.

Step 2: A $40 non-refundable application fee is required with each application.

Step 3: All post-secondary school records (transcripts, mark sheets, and certificates) should be submitted in the original language and should be accompanied by a certified English translation.

Step 4: English language proficiency results are needed for admission to Cleveland State University. The candidate must submit the scores of the following: TOEFL, IELTS, and ELS.

Step 5: In order to receive a certificate of eligibility for a student visa (Form I-20 or Form DS-2019) from CSU, all international students must submit documentation of financial support for one academic year.
