Columbus State University Annual Scholastic Honors Convocation bestows awards to over 130 students
The awards bestowed during the annual Scholastic Honors Convocation included the Faculty Cup Award and Educator of the Year Award—considered to be the university’s “top” awards for students and faculty.
Columbus State University held its annual Scholastic Honors Convocation recently where over 130 students were awarded for their academic and service accomplishments at the university, departmental and program levels.
The annual program also recognized recipients of departmental- and program-level Student of Excellence and other awards. During the event, a total of eight students received graduating senior honor cords, 162 students were inducted into the Honors College's Honoris Causa organization, and 21 students, faculty and administrators were inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi international honor society.
The Faculty Cup was bagged by Bailey Melton, a Columbus native who will graduate in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in digital humanities. It is the highest student award bestowed by the university. Bailey Melton demonstrated her international interests by earning the prestigious Boren Fellowship and study abroad experiences through Columbus State in Jordan and at the University of Oxford. She serves in the Student Government Association, in addition to other campus and community activities and is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honors Society.
Kerri Taylor has received the Educator of the Year award. She has served as a faculty in the university since 2016.
Columbus State University Undergraduate Admissions Fall Season
The application deadline for the Summer season is over for this year. However, interested and eligible candidates can apply for undergraduate regular admission Fall season by June 30, 2024, and the document can be submitted by July 15, 2024. For the Spring season undergraduate priority admission deadline is September 15 and for undergraduate regular admission, it is November 30.

The types of UG admissions include - Traditional Freshman Admissions, Transfer Admissions, Dual Enrollment Admissions, Adult Learners / Non-Traditional, Freshman Admissions, Transient Admissions, Post-Baccalaureate Students Admissions, and Returning Students.
