High Commission of India London advises Indian visitors to stay vigilant and exercise due caution
The UK is witnessing violent anti-immigration protests throughout the streets of London, Southport, and Hartlepool. The violence continued on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and now the High Commission of India London has released an advisory which has cautioned the Indian visitors to stay vigilant.
Study in UK: Recently, Britain has witnessed violent outbreaks of anti-immigrant protests which are expected to intensify more in the coming days.
As per the report of CNN, the agitators have set fire to hotels housing asylum seekers which left people terrified and trapped. Prime Minister Keir Starmer chaired his first emergency COBRA session with national agencies to discuss how to tackle this disorder.
“This is not protest. It is organized, violent thuggery and it has no place on our streets, or online," said the Prime Minister.
“People in this country have a right to be safe and yet, we’ve seen Muslim communities targeted, attacks on mosques, other minority communities singled out, Nazi salutes in the street, attacks on the police, wanton violence alongside racist rhetoric,” Starmer said at Downing Street.
After the weekend violence, over 370 people were arrested in the UK and the number is expected to rise.
National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), the UK’s national law enforcement body, said, “as forces continue to identify those involved and continue to apprehend those responsible.”
