Howard University Excited To Host Harris' Election Night Party In Washington
For the Harris' election night party in Washington, the road closures and parking restrictions started on Monday night. Howard University is excited to host the presidential election night which is being held for the first time on a college campus.
Study in US: Ahead of the election night watch party by Vice President Kamala Harris at her alma mater Howard University on Tuesday night, President Ben Vinson III sent a campus-wide email on how the party will be conducted.
The steps like parking restrictions, road closures and security measures implementation have all started on the campus on Monday night.
A law student at Howard University - Nigel Jhonson is excited about the upcoming event.
Jhonson said to the media, "It is a momentous occasion. You always love to see your alumni, and your classmates doing big things. It is an honour to have the world here and the world to know the type of people of university produces. We produce leaders and the world ought to know that Howard University is synonymous with leadership," as reported by Telegraph India.
Howard student Zerek Henderson said on Monday, "They closed campus, so all my classes are online this week. Tomorrow, this whole school is closed — no class at all."

“We are incredibly proud of our alumna, Kamala Harris, who has already made history as the first woman of color and HBCU graduate to serve as our nation’s vice president. We are also honored that she has chosen Howard as the place to potentially make history again," Vinson said in the email.
Ben, who lives in the neighbourhood said, "It is very cool that we may have the first female president from the university."
"It feels great to have the spotlight on us and having alumni like the Vice President of US. I feel like it shows the university produces good students. This is history being created here," said Jade, a Freshman at the university.
As per the Pew Research Center, the economy is a top priority among voters. The majority of registered voters said that the economy would be very important for their voting.
“If elected I look forward to her building that opportunity economy she’s spoken so much about because a lot of Americans have been struggling financially, especially in the wake of the pandemic,” said Ashley Rayford, a senior political science major and legal communications minor, as reported by The Hilltop.
