Study in UK: Imperial College London on-campus Open Day is a great opportunity to meet students and staff, and explore campus, accommodation and facilities.
Study Abroad: Imperial College London has invited prospective students to book seats for their South Kensington Campus on Saturday 14 September as they are going to celebrate the undergraduate Open Day.
The day will offer a unique opportunity for visitors to meet students and staff, and the visitors will be able to ask any questions from them, they will also be able to explore the campus, accommodation, and facilities, and will get the chance to attend the departmental sessions for different subjects they are interested in enrolling.
Imperial College London's message on X reads, "Book your place at our September undergraduate Open Day! Join us on Saturday 14 September for your chance to visit campus, hear from our academics and talk to students about life at Imperial."
The university has advised students to book an Open Day place on time to guarantee a seat in their preferred departmental sessions. The seats can be booked for the students and one guest. Supporters, friends and family can also accompany students on the open day.
Four academics awarded Future Leaders Fellowships
The four Imperial academics have received the Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) awards from the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). The award winners include - Dr Rachael Barry from the Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction. She receives £1.5m for her research into treating, understanding and preventing colorectal cancer.
From the Department of Computing, Dr Tolga Birdal has received £1.55m to develop his research which includes enabling machine learning to deal with complex relationships.
From the Department of Infectious Disease, Dr Rachel Edgar receives £1.5m for her research on how viruses and cells interact with each other. Dr Frank Schindler, from our Department of Physics, receives £1.2m for his research to develop the theory of topological materials.
The award is to support early career research and the funding will be given for up to four years for this purpose.
Dr Liz Elvidge, Head of Postdoc and Fellows Development at Imperial, said, “World-class science and innovation is at the heart of Imperial’s strategy, and we aim to foster the spirit of research with our students and academics from day one. These UKRI Fellowships are an important element in the pipeline of progression from having a passion for learning to discoveries that will shape our future and our planet.”
