Stanford University Offers Prestigious Scholarship To 7 Indian-Origin Students

Knight-Hennessy Scholarship of Stanford University is the largest graduate fellowship in the world. This year the prestigious scholarship is also secured by a total of 7 Indian-origin students including Kritika Singh, Krishna Pathak, Rahul Penumaka, Ank Agarwal, Wasan Kumar, Aneesh Pappu, and Isha Sanghvi.
These students are among the 90 scholars chosen for the Knight-Hennessy scholarship. The Indian-origin students will pursue disciplines across fields of technology, medicine, engineering and law. These students have enrolled in programs ranging from MBAs, MDs and PhDs.

Tina Seelig, Executive Director of Knight-Hennessy Scholars said, “Each scholar brings a unique perspective to our growing community. It is inspiring to see them build ties and gain knowledge across disciplines, cultures, and ideologies, contributing to their ability to address the world's biggest challenges," as reported by NDTV.
The official statement said that each year, a new cohort of scholars join the Knight-Hennessy community from across nationalities, disciplines, backgrounds and perspectives. They learn together, develop lifelong friendships and partner on impactful projects.
About Knight-Hennessy scholarship
All the scholars are graduate students of Stanford University who join the scholarship in addition to enrolling in a graduate degree program at the university's seven schools. The scholars get up to three years of financial help to pursue their graduate studies at Stanford University. The scholars study and get prepared to take up leadership positions in nonprofits, government, industry, academia and the community at large.
"Scholars receive a fellowship for up to three years of tuition, depending upon their degree length. In addition, scholars receive a stipend for living and academic expenses, and a travel stipend for one annual trip to and from Stanford,” reads the official statement.
Eligibility Criteria: The scholars have no restrictions based on field of study, age, college or university or career aspirations. Citizens and residents of all the countries are encouraged to apply.
“We do not require applicants to seek endorsements from colleges, universities, or other institutions. Additionally, there are no quotas by discipline or program,” added the official statement.
There are two baseline eligibility requirements which are as follows:
- In addition to applying for the scholarship, the students must be enrolled in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program that includes - PhD, MS, MPP, MFA, MD, MBA, MA, JD, and DMA. The courses are not limited to these only.
- The student must have earned in Jan 2018 or later a US bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a college or university of recognized standing.
