Study Abroad: RMIT Vice-Chancellor Visits BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy In India
While visiting BITS Goa, RMIT Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Alec Cameron was delighted to meet with the RMIT Melbourne students in India undertaking a student mobility program.
RMIT undergraduate engineering students are currently studying in India under a student mobility program of the BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy. To meet these students, RMIT Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Alec Cameron visited India last week.
In New Delhi, he had the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of partners and key stakeholders and meet the RMIT Alumni at an event co-hosted with Global Victoria. He also attended an Industry Leadership Roundtable in Delhi. At BITS Goa, he met with the RMIT Melbourne students who are currently studying in India.
One of the RMIT Students Lily Machuca Merange who is studying for a Bachelor of Business said, “So far, we have learned about Goa and its culture from local professors. This trip will give me a better understanding of Indian culture and traditions. It will give me a global perspective and knowledge that I can use in my studies and future career.”
RMIT University VC Visit To India Details
The Australian university hosted an Industry Leadership Roundtable with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in Delhi for the exchange of best practices, cross-border collaboration and innovation. The attendees included representatives from India's All India Council for Technical Education, National Council for Vocation Education and Training, BITS, and Austrade.
The event brought together key stakeholders from industry and government, as well as RMIT alumni, and offered the opportunity to network. He also visited QS Summit in Goa where he was the speaker. He talked about the significance of building and strengthening alumni relationships and building endowments for sustainable growth.
RMIT Industry Fellow Professor Mikala Dwyer Artwork Premiers In Hong Kong
As part of the Re: Tai Kok Tsui public art project, an artwork of the renowned Australian artist and RMIT Industry Fellow Professor Mikala Dwyer was premiered in Hong Kong.
"The work is a collaboration between RMIT University School of Art and the Hong Kong Arts Centre, with support from the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program. Dwyer’s artwork, 'Phantasms’ is a series of digital projections which consider the impact of urban renewal on ecological changes, through poetic projections of the locally familiar barn swallow," says the university statement.
