The Executive Board of Directors will provide strategic guidance to the consortium as a national leader in manufacturing infrastructure, semiconductor research, and workforce development.

Study in US: The Texas Institute for Electronics has announced the Executive Board of Directors to provide the consortium strategic guidance as a national leader in manufacturing infrastructure, semiconductor research, and workforce development.

The board members will bring talent and experience across academia and government including AI hardware, manufacturing innovation, advanced semiconductor heterogeneous integration, startups, and the defence and intelligence sectors of the U.S. semiconductor industry.

John Schreck, CEO of TIE said, “Each member of our executive board brings decades of complementary experience in fields that are central to the future of semiconductor research, innovation and manufacturing, and key sectors including defence that rely on advancements in semiconductor technology for our most critical national interests."

“Our board’s guidance and commitment will ensure Texas Institute for Electronics will continue to be a leader in advanced packaging, disruptive heterogeneous integration, and developing the skilled workforce necessary to scale to meet national demand," added John Schreck.








TIE Executive Board of Directors Details

The following are the members:

  • Ken Joyce, executive adviser to Brewer Science Inc serves on the Industrial Advisory Committee for the CHIPS program and brings CEO and manufacturing experience (Amkor Technology).
  • Meghali Chopra CEO of SandBox Semiconductor represents the startup community. The start-up specializes in AI-enabled optimization of semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Babak Sabi, a senior vice president at Intel Corp.
  • Jeannie Leavitt brings extensive leadership experience and three decades of defence and national security experience.
  • Sharon L. Wood represents the academic community. He is UT's provost and former dean of the Cockrell School of Engineering.
  • John Schreck, CEO of TIE serves as an excecutive board member with over 40 years of experience at Texas Instruments and Micron Technology.
  • S.V. Sreenivasan, founder and chief technology officer of TIE with specialization in process technologies and semiconductor equipment.

The strategic member companies include leading semiconductor manufacturers including Micron Technology Inc, Applied Materials Inc., Intel Corp, and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. The State of Texas has generously invested $552 million in TIE since 2022 to develop state-of-the-art fabrication facilities.
