Study in Australia: Apply Now for University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships!

The scholarships are open to outstanding international and domestic students. The last date to apply for the scholarship application is 31 October.
Study Abroad: University of Melbourne has invited online applications for the Melbourne Research Scholarship and Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship. These Graduate Research Scholarships are being offered to academically high-performing international and domestic students who are enrolling at the University of Melbourne in a graduate research degree.
There are a total of 600 scholarships available. The last date to apply for the scholarships is 31 October.
University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships offer living allowance of $37,000 per year pro rata (2024 full-time study rate) for up to 3.5 years for students undertaking a doctoral degree and for up to two years for students undertaking a Master by Research degree.
Students undertaking a doctoral degree will get a full fee offset for up to four years and the students who are undertaking a Masters by Research degree will get a full fee offset for two years.
The student will get relocation grant of $3000 for students moving from outside Australia and $2000 for students moving from States or Territories other than Victoria. International students who require a student visa to study in Australia get an overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership.
Eligibility Criteria for University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships
The following are the eligibility conditions for the scholarships:
- The student must apply for and meet the required conditions for a graduate research degree at the university.
- Those who are currently pursuing a graduate research degree from University of Melbourne are eligible for the scholarships.

In its efforts to put a cap on international student numbers, the Australian government has increased the student visa fees by 125%. Now the fees stands at AUD $1600. While commenting on this, Minister for Education, Jason Clare said, “International education is an incredibly important national asset and we need to ensure its integrity and quality. These changes will strengthen integrity in the international education system and help to fund important reforms recommended by the Universities Accord, including making HECS fairer, paid prac and expanding FEE-Free Uni Ready courses.”
