Study in Canada: Apply Now for UBC MasterCard Scholarship!
The last date to apply for the UBC MasterCard Scholarship is October 31, 2024.
The University of British Columbia is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2025 intake. The deadline to submit the application for the UBC MasterCard Scholarship is October 31, 2024. The scholarship application should be submitted before applying to the university.
To get selected for the scholarship, the applicant must decide their program (s) of interest from the list. The scholarship is available for the following programs - in Faculty of Forestry, it should be Master of International Forestry (MIF), Master of Sustainable Forest Management (MSFM), Master of Science/Master of Applied Science in Forestry and Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management (MGEM), in Faculty of Land and Food Systems, Master of Land and Water Systems (MLWS), Master of Food Science (MFS), and Master of Food and Resource Economics (MFRE), and in Faculty of Science - Master of Data Science.
Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria to be considered for the UBC MasterCard Scholarship:
- Applicant must have completed a bachelor's degree
- Should not have completed Master's degree
- The age limit should not be more than 35 years
- Should be a refugee or citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country
- Must apply for a Master’s degree in one of the eligible programs
- If the bachelor's degree is not taught in English, candidates need to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.

The selection will be done on the following basis:
- The application quality should be in line with the program theme
- The academic merit will be considered for selection.
- How the applicant can contribute to their home country after completing the course is also important factor
- Applicants will be given preference who have faced barriers in their education due to health, financial, social and practical related reasons.

- Academic transcripts
- Two reference letters on official letterhead.
