Study in Germany: Apply for DAAD Helmut Schmidt Programme 2025

The DAAD Scholarship 2024-25 is a fully funded scholarship and available for the DAAD Helmut Schmidt Programme 2025 which is a master's level degree. The application deadline is 31 July 2024.

Study Abroad: Applicants who are planning to pursue a master's degree in Germany can apply for DAAD Helmut Schmidt Programme 2025 through which DAAD strives to contribute in promoting civil society structures and good governance. The aim is to prepare students for responsible positions in their home countries. The students get trained in disciplines of social, political, and economic development. After completing the course they can set up economic and social institutions in their respective home countries.

The DAAD Helmut-Schmidt-Programme is to support future leaders from developing countries who want to work for and promote social justice and democracy in their home countries. German Federal Foreign Office funds this program to offer a chance to the applicants to pursue a Master’s degree in political, economic and social development in the students' countries of origin.

The candidates who already hold a master's degree must convince the committee why they should be provided a scholarship for another postgraduate degree. The applicant's last university degree should not be before 1 January 2018. Those who spent over 15 months in a country that is not listed on the DAC list are not eligible for the DAAD Scholarship 2024-25.

DAAD Scholarship 2024-25 Benefits

The following are the benefits provided by the scholarship:

• The scholarship holders are exempted from paying the tuition fees.
• They get scholarships (of currently € 934 per month) to pursue the course at German higher education institutions.
• It also provides health insurance coverage.
• A study and research grant is provided to the students.
• Travel allowances for travelling between Germany and other emerging countries.
• They can pursue German language courses in Germany

DAAD Scholarship 2024-25: More Details

Application form should be submitted in English or German. If applying for two master's courses, the students need to rank the courses in order of preference. The selection committee, comprising professors of participating courses, will select the candidates in October/November 2024.

"The candidates that were proposed for a scholarship are contacted by the DAAD and asked to upload their full documents to the DAAD portal. Please do not upload any application documents unless you are nominated (by email) by the DAAD," reads the official statement.

"Please make sure that you have a full set of copies of your application documents in PDF format. Please submit original documents, only if you are explicitly asked to do so by the master’s course," added the statement.
