Study Abroad: Applying to DAAD Scholarship 2025 is comparatively easier, especially for those applicants who are from developing countries. The scholarship is open to international students of all disciplines who are seeking to pursue a master's or postgraduate degree at a state or state-recognised German university.

The scholarship is given monthly, €1,300 (1,19,000) for doctoral and €934 (Rs 85,000) for graduate candidates. It also covers students' payments towards accident, health and personal liability insurance coverage.

Documents needed for the DAAD Scholarship include proof of language proficiency, academic records, a statement of purpose/motivation letter, a letter of recommendation, a research proposal, and proof of work experience.

Eligibility Criteria for DAAD Scholarship 2025

The following are the eligibility requirements:

Academic merit has a significant role in providing the scholarship. The candidate must have a strong GPA during their undergraduate studies.

The candidate must have a minimum of two years of professional experience related to the program they are applying for.








This scholarship targets applicants from developing countries, hence while filling out the application check the list of eligible countries.

Language proficiency test scores are required. For English, IELTS or TOEFL scores and for German language, proficiency with a DSH or TestDaF certificate.







The scholarship is available for PhD in Medical Research International Health (PhD Program), Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security, MSc Development Economics, Development Management, Sustainable Development Management, Bonn International Graduate School for Development Research (BIGS-DR), Master of Science in International Health (Berlin), PhD Programme in Resource Nexus for Sustainability Transformations (NEXtra), Master of Laws in Intellectual Property and Competition Law, and Master of Science in Global Urban Health.

For applicants from artistic fields, the DAAD offers scholarship programs in Music, Performing Art, Fine Art/Design/Film and Architecture.

The scholarship can be for visits of between 10 and 24 months depending on the length of the chosen programme. The candidates must state the period for which they need a scholarship, eg- if need a scholarship for a two-year program, must mention 2 years in the application.
