Study In UK: Global Institute For Women's Leadership Joins King's Business School
With Professor Heejung Chung now joining as the new Director of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership (GIWL), the institute is now part of King’s Business School.
Professor Heejung Chung, Professor of Work and Employment has been appointed as the new Director of King's Global Institute for Women's Leadership.
While commenting on her appointment, she said, "Threats to women's rights and the rise of misogynistic views, even among younger generations, give GIWL’s work increased urgency. It’s not just about getting the few to reach top positions. It’s about changing some of the most problematic structures in our labour market and society to create an environment where women and other intersectional marginalised communities can thrive. This way society as a whole – including men - can benefit."
"King’s Business School has had a close relationship with GIWL over the years and I am very proud that we will be taking it forward in the next stage of its development and providing innovative research on the future of women’s leadership. There is a huge opportunity to engage directly with those who have the power to create change within organisations and I am looking forward to seeing the institute continue to flourish under Heejung’s leadership and that of GIWL chair Julia Gillard," said Professor Stephen Bach, Executive Dean, King's Business School.
