The University of California offers Regents Scholarships for entering freshmen. It is a prestigious scholarship and is awarded based on academic excellence. During the first year, a $20,000 scholarship is provided to the selected students paid at $5,000 per year in each of their 4 undergraduate years. Moreover, the students get other special privileges.

To apply for the UC Application for Admission and Scholarships, candidates must apply by November 30, 2024. The students need not file any other paperwork. The selected students get notified when College Financing Plans become available.

"Entering freshmen and transfers receive an annual honorarium of $5,000. Entering freshmen will receive the honorarium for 4 academic years, and entering transfers receive it for 2 academic years," reads the official statement.

During the admission, the Regents Scholars get their first choice UC San Diego college as per the preference they selected on the UC application form. The Fall quarter enrolments are completed between August -September.








Following are some tips which the aspiring freshmen should follow:

The applicant must check announcements related to their enrollment appointment times for both passes in all upcoming quarters.

On Friday of Week 5 of the current quarter, the university announces the enrollment appointment dates and times for the next quarter.







Those who do not get an enrollment time on the first day of priority enrollment must contact the Scholarship Office, (858) 534-1067.

At each of the UC San Diego Libraries, the scholars get graduate-level borrowing privileges.

During the first quarter of enrollment, the participants get to participate in the cutting-edge research program, if there is availability. These research programs are mostly available in the Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Physical Sciences, and Engineering departments.
