The Wilson Center in Washington DC invited journalists, practitioners, scholars and public intellectuals to participate in the international Fellowship program.

The Wilson Center is offering a 9-month flagship international Fellowship Program. The Center has invited journalists, practitioners, scholars and public intellectuals to take part in the program. The application deadline is October 1, 2024.

The applicant should also submit two letters of reference only by October 18 or postmarked by October 17. Wilson Centre Fellowships offers a stipend of $90,000. It will not cover travel expenses and health insurance.

"If you are submitting online, please ensure that you submit the correct email address for your referees. It is your responsibility to ensure that we receive your references letters. Applications missing reference letters will be considered incomplete," said the official statement.

Interested candidates need to send non-advocacy and policy-relevant proposals addressing the pressing issues of the world. The Fellows will get a chance to interact with the policymakers in Wilson Center staff, Washington, and other scholars. The idea is to unite policymakers with the world's ideas.








Wilson Centre Fellowships: Eligibility Requirements

The following are the eligibility requirements to apply for the fellowships:

  • The applicant should be a citizen of any country. If they are not from the US, they must hold a valid passport.
  • They should have published a monograph or book beyond their PhD.
  • The candidates should be at the post-doctoral level.
  • English language proficiency is a must.
  • They can be policymakers.

"You do not need an institutional affiliation to apply. For most academic candidates, a book or monograph is required. Scholars and practitioners who previously held research awards or fellowships at the Wilson Center are not precluded from applying for a fellowship. However, the nature and recency of the prior award may be among the factors considered during the selection process, and by the Fellowship Committee of the Board of Trustees," added the official notification.

The following documents are required for the fellowships:

  • Application form
  • List of publications
  • Current CV
  • Two reference letters
  • Project Proposal
  • Bibliography

The selection will be based on the originality and significance of the proposed research, relevance with contemporary policy issues, achievements of the applicant, and qualification of the proposal.
