Study in USA: SN Bose Scholarship offers great opportunity for Indian students

To apply to the SN Bose Scholarship Exchange Program the candidates must be Indian citizens, and must have at least one year left in their degree program in India. The scholarship includes a stipend, health insurance and airfare.

Study in USA: SN Bose Scholarship is offered to Indian students under the partnership of the Science & Engineering Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and WINStep Forward. The aim is to nurture future innovators and thought leaders.

The dynamic and transformative student exchange program S.N. Bose Scholars Program is between the top institutions in the United States and India. The scholarship will offer the selected candidates with a unique opportunity to connect with other students and experience advanced research facilities. The scholarship will cover airfare, stipend and health insurance.

SN Bose Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship:

• Interested candidates must be Indian citizens who are currently pursuing a Bachelor's or master's degree at a recognized institution of higher education and learning in India.
• The scholarship is open to students of Chemical Sciences; Engineering Sciences; Atmospheric and Earth Sciences; Mathematical and Computational Sciences; and, Physical Sciences

As per the official statement, students with a biology background should consider applying to the Khorana Program for Scholars.

SN Bose Scholarship: More Details

The scholarship is to encourage and motivate Indian students to take up research as a career, and it offers an opportunity for students to experience world-class research facilities in leading U.S. institutions. The scholarship program also aims to build long-term R&D partnerships across boundaries around the globe and pave the way for the next generation of innovators and pioneers in science and technology to interact with each other.

The scholarship is also available for US students under the collaboration. For US students the scholarship covers the airfare and placement at leading Universities and Research Laboratories in India.

About Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum 

It was established in March 2000 under the collaboration between the governments of the United States of America and India. Both governments jointly fund this autonomous bilateral organization to promote Engineering and Innovation, Science and Technology through substantive interaction among government, academia and industry. The respective nodal departments are the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India and the U.S. Department of State.
