Sunway University invites applications for PhD Studentship

Applications are open for PhD Studentship at Sunway University. The last date to apply is May 3, 2024.

Sunway University offers an excellent opportunity for a PhD studentship at the School of Engineering and Technology. It is open to Malaysian and non-Malaysian full-time PhD students. The programs include a Doctor of Philosophy (Computing) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Sustainability Science and Technology.

The main highlights include a 100% tuition fee waiver, registration and visa-related fees covered, monthly stipend of RM 3,000/Month for 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria with Master's Degree Qualification:

• Master's Degree with CGPA greater than or equivalent to 3.50
• Published one Scopus indexed or equivalent output
• Subject to the selection interview process

Eligibility for Bachelor Degree Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree with CGPA greater and equal to 3.67 
• Subject to an internal assessment interview process

The documents required include a passport-sized photo (white background), a copy of your passport or NRIC, research statement curriculum vitae, academic documents, English proficiency results or medium of instruction letter, a recommendation letter from your referee, and a screenshot of your Scopus profile.

Application Procedure

Following are the steps the candidates need to follow to complete the application process:

Step 1: Talk to the programme counsellors - furnish your academic results and ensure that you meet all the entry requirements of the programme, receive a copy of the programme leaflet/brochure and fee structure. (Request for scholarship information, if applicable.), and understand the structure, options and duration of the programme. (Request for subject exemptions, if applicable.).

Step 2: Get ready to fill up this application form - gather the documents including academic records, NHRC/Passport, English language achievements, sponsorship/scholarship offer letter, and contacts.

Step 3: Fill up the application form - Use a black or blue ballpoint pen to complete this form, remember to write clearly in CAPITAL letters in the relevant space given, and complete all sections in this application form using the following checklist - Applicant’s details, Student Pass Details (International Students only), contact details, Emergency Contact, Special Condition details, programme details, funding/scholarship, academic qualifications, English Language Qualification, submit an online application with all relevant documents and items, submit the application form and all relevant documents and items to a counsellor at the Admissions Office or International Office, post the application form and all relevant documents. Payment for Enrolment Fee of RM700 (non-refundable).
