Technological University of the Shannon offers admissions to International Software Design - BEng (Hons)
This four-year course in International Software Design is open to international students and it also promises international placement. The objective of the course is to develop professional international-based competence with a high level of intellectual awareness in the area of software development.
Study in Ireland: Technological University of the Shannon has announced a new course International Software Design - BEng (Hons).
"This NEW course comes with international placement and a language to help you progress in an exciting career as a software designer," reads the university's statement on the X platform.
The international applicants were required to apply directly to the International Office at TUS, allowing plenty of time for completing the visa process. Applications for September start was closed on 1st June to ensure visas are processed on time.
Moreover, a Biannual Student Affairs Ireland Seminar took place at the university yesterday in which more than 180 student affairs professionals from 19 Higher Education Institutes attended presentations and specialist workshops. The central topic of the seminar was to ensure best practices while sharing ideas and experiences.
€27 million Coonagh Campus was added to Technological University of the Shannon
Recently, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Patrick O’Donovan opened the new state-of-the-art Coonagh Campus at TUS, Limerick spread over 5,819 sq/m area and will accommodate an additional 800 students, with an emphasis on increasing the number of apprenticeships at the university.
"The Coonagh Campus will drive the expansion of engineering education and research, and includes new workshops and laboratories that will deliver space for manufacturing engineering and other engineering activities, particularly in apprenticeship programmes," said the government statement.
Professor Vincent Cunnane, President of TUS said about the building, "It is about people, communities and ultimately creating a virtuous cycle where our graduates have the skills and attributes needed to propel the next phase of the economic development of the region."

Ministry of External Affairs data revealed that nearly 5,000 Indian students were studying in Ireland in 2022, and this number is projected to grow tenfold in 10 years. The country offers some of the best universities along with a vibrant culture and post-study opportunities. It offers opportunities for personal growth through community engagement, cultural experiences and extracurricular pursuits. In the recent past, the country emerged as a popular study-abroad destination, especially among Indian aspirants.
