University of Florida College of Pharmacy ranks No. 3 in new AACP Research Rankings

The researchers of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy secured a record $41 million last year, surpassing the previous year’s total by nearly $9 million.
Study in US: The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, or AACP, ranked the University of Florida College of Pharmacy at No. 3 nationally in annual research funding. The researchers secured $41 million last year, surpassing the previous year’s total by nearly $9 million.
Peter W. Swaan, Ph.D., M.Pharm., dean and professor in the UF College of Pharmacy said, “In the 100-year history of the UF College of Pharmacy, we’ve never seen a year where our researchers achieved such remarkable success in securing grant funding."
AACP compiled the research data of over 140 colleges of pharmacy around the county and the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida ranked at No. 3 in all three major categories where annual research funding is reported - NIH funding ($32.6 million), federal funding ($35.1 million), and total funding ($41 million).
The College of Pharmacy at UF set new funding records in all three categories, and the AACP reported that 56 unique investigators in the college received grant funding.
Florida Pharmacy Association honors two faculty at the College of Pharmacy
The Florida Pharmacy Association, or FPA, honoured two faculties of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy at its 134th Annual Meeting and Convention in Tampa, June 13-16. Kelsey Cook, Pharm.D., a clinical assistant professor, was presented with the Upsher Smith Excellence in Innovation Award. Carol Motycka, Pharm.D., a clinical professor and the assistant dean of the Jacksonville campus, was selected as the Interamerican Pharmacists Association Roman Maximo Corrons Inspiration & Motivation Award winner.
Interamerican Pharmacists Association Roman Maximo Corrons Inspiration & Motivation Award honours the recipient for leadership and commitment to inspiring others to continue to advance the profession. Whereas, the Upsher Smith Excellence in Innovation Award honours a practicing pharmacist who has demonstrated innovation in improving patient care.
Motycka is a former president of FPA and has been involved in the organization for more than two decades. Cook joined the FPA in 2020, and she is a member of the organization’s Professional Affairs Counsel.
