University of Galway School of Law Ireland, Symbiosis School of Law India renew collaboration
To strengthen the Global Legal Education, Ireland Based University of Galway School of Law and India’s Symbiosis School of Law renewed the collaboration.
University of Galway School of Law, Ireland, and Symbiosis Law School of Pune, India, have renewed their MoU and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering international collaboration in legal education.
Mr. Barry O'Driscoll, Regional Manager, of Education in Ireland said, “As we witness the remarkable strides in education made by Ireland and India, it's inspiring to see institutions like the University of Galway School of Law and Symbiosis Law School of Pune come together to deepen international collaboration in legal education. The renewal of the MoU underscores our shared commitment to empowering the next generation of legal professionals and exemplifies the vision for collaborative excellence between our nations."
Prof. Martin Hogg, Dean of University of Galway School of Law remarked, "I am very excited and honoured to have visited Symbiosis Law School to mark the renewal of our strong and fruitful partnership. Ireland is the leading common law jurisdiction in the European Union and India is one of the most prominent common law jurisdictions of the world, and our renewed commitment to work together builds upon the strong foundations of our legal jurisdictions and the excellence of our faculty members and students. Professor Shashikala Gurpur, Director of Symbiosis Law School expressed her enthusiasm for the renewed partnership, stating, "The synergy of SIU and University of Galway and the past collaborations in faculty and student mobility are institutionalised with this MOU. SIU’s pioneer role in global and EU Legal Studies and all-round internationalisation of legal education, gets new booster hereby. We look forward to joint research, publications, collaborative online learning and exchange of best practices to strengthen our global competencies further."
The renewal of the MOU between University of Galway School of Law and Symbiosis Law School underscores a shared dedication to advancing legal scholarship and nurturing the next generation of legal professionals on a global scale.
University of Galway School of Law Ireland, Symbiosis School of Law India agreement details
Under this collaboration, the University of Galway has extended a generous scholarship worth €1500 (approximately 135,423 INR) to successful applicants from Symbiosis Law School who secure a place in their LLM program. This initiative aims to facilitate greater access to quality legal education for deserving students.
After renewing the agreement, both law schools committed to improving teaching and research opportunities, strengthening their roles as top legal educators.
