University of Huddersfield offers Research Degree Scholarships in Computer Science
The application dates for international and home students with a scholarship for Sept/Oct 2024 is 07 June 2024, for January 2025 - 18 October 2024, and for April 2025- 24 January 2025.
Study in UK: The University of Huddersfield’s School of Computing and Engineering is offering various scholarship opportunities for Master’s by Research and PhD applicants. Both domestic and international applicants are eligible for the scholarships.
To apply for these scholarships, it is advised to identify a potential supervisor in the School who is prepared to support your application for a scholarship. It can be found on the official website - https://www.hud.ac.uk/postgraduate/research/research-scholarships/computer-science/.
First, the candidates need to submit an Expression of Interest following which successful candidates will be invited to submit a full application. The Expression of Interest form can be completed by attaching all required documents pertaining to the specific Scholarship the students are applying for and they also need to provide references from two individuals.
Documents required with application
The following documents are needed along with the application form:
- Two-page curriculum vitae (CV)
- Passport or alternative ID
- Proof of IELTS 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) or equivalent English language requirements (if applicable)
- Qualification certificates and academic transcripts
- References from two individuals
- Research proposal (if applicable)
Expressions of Interest are shortlisted based on the following criteria:
- Research-relevant experience including any publications.
- References and statements of support
- Education history including undergraduate and, if applicable, postgraduate qualifications.
School of Computing and Engineering Scholarships are awarded for 100% of tuition fees for the standard registration period only for either PhD or Master's by Research study. Exceptional candidates may also be awarded a small tax-free stipend, paid monthly.
“Reapplications for a scholarship within the School of Computing and Engineering will not be considered within 12 months of a previous unsuccessful application study. All scholarships are subject to satisfactory academic progress including successful completion of Progression Monitoring,” reads the university's statement.
University of Huddersfield named most improved university in UK in QS World Rankings 2025
The university has been named the most improved university in the UK by QS and is ranked 49th among UK universities.
“The University ranked highly in the indicators for International Students, Sustainability, International Faculty and International Research Network,” said a statement by University of Huddersfield.
