University of Manchester introduces significant scholarships for Indian Students

The scholarships announced for the Indian students include - Global Futures Scholarship, Humanities Bicentenary Scholarships, and Humanities International Excellence Scholarship.

Study in UK: The University of Manchester announced a series of scholarships for Indian students for the September 2024 intake. These scholarships aim to offer support for exceptional Indian students planning to pursue their undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the university.

The basis of the evaluation will be the academic merit. Any student who has the offer of admission and satisfies the requirements will get a scholarship in the form of a tuition fee reduction.

The scholarships available are as follows:

Global Futures Scholarship

It is for international students from worldwide including those from India. The scholarship is available at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Undergraduate: There are a total of 100 merit-based Global Futures Scholarships worth £21,000 each.

"Applicants must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2024 and have, or be working towards one of the following qualifications: A Levels, IB Diploma, Indian Standard XII (CBSE, ISC, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat boards only), Advanced Placement (AP)," said the university's statement.

Postgraduate: University of Manchester offers international students 100 merit-based scholarships of £8,000 based on academic merit and the quality of their scholarship application.

Humanities Bicentenary Scholarships

Faculty of Humanities announced a variety of commemorative Bicentenary scholarships and financial aid options for qualified candidates beginning in September 2024. The awards are limited in number and will be given based on the student’s academic performance and the excellence of their program application. No additional application is required; the applications will be automatically reviewed and the selected will be informed.

The University is offering £2,000 for the first year of study to undergraduate students. This scholarship is offered to Indian students only. It is available to the Alliance Manchester Business School and the School of Social Sciences.

The University is offering £10,000 for one year of study to postgraduate students. For PG scholarships, no separate application is required – awards are granted on academic merit and strength of personal profile. The scholarship is available to the School of Social Sciences, the School of Environment, Education and Development, and the School of Arts Languages and Culture.

Humanities International Excellence Scholarship

It is offered to outstanding international students pursuing humanities disciplines at UoM at the postgraduate level. Applicants must have the offer to study with the university on an approved programme with an overall score of 60% - 70% (varies by Indian institution) in their undergraduate studies.
