University of Oxford Ellison Scholarship applications open till August 1

Study in UK: EIT, alongside the University of Oxford, is committed to developing the global technology innovators and leaders of the future. The Ellison Scholars undergraduate applications are open till August 1, 2024.

University of Oxford: Applications are currently open for the Ellison Scholarship. Undergraduate applications are now open for the 2025 Ellison Scholars cohort! Applications will remain open through 1 August 2024 at 4 p.m. (UK time), according to the Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT)'s statement.

The scholarship program was announced on October 12, 2023, to recruit approximately twenty students from around the world each year, providing a full scholarship for study at the University of Oxford.

"The Ellison Scholars programme is looking for at least twenty candidates from around the world  each year, who are passionate about solving humanity’s most serious problems. Scholars will fully commit to both their study at the University of Oxford and their ongoing project work with EIT," added EIT's statement.

University of Oxford Ellison Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The main criteria is that the applicant must meet the University of Oxford’s entry requirements for their chosen course, these include:

• University’s English Language requirements for their chosen undergraduate degree
• A secondary education/high school leaving qualification, diploma or certificate accepted by the University of Oxford
• The entry requirements for their chosen undergraduate degree (including minimum grade requirements)

Other criteria include that the applicants need to show that they are aligned and committed to EIT’s vision by demonstrating a deep understanding of global problems in at least one of EIT’s four humane endeavours. They should demonstrate one or more of the following:

• Outstanding aptitude in a subject that relates to one of EIT’s humane endeavours or projects
• A proven track record in innovating to solve problems
• Advanced technology-related skills

The semi-finalists will be selected between September to October 2024. Semi-finalists prepare their application to the University of Oxford; the application deadline is 15 October. By January 2025, those who will receive the offers from the University of Oxford will be selected. The final selection by EIT Faculty of Fellows is scheduled from February to March 2025. By April 2025, the Ellison Scholars are selected and they begin their studies at the University of Oxford by October 2025.
