University of Oxford, Hyundai Motor Group establish Foresight Centre
The Foresight Centre will explore Hyundai Motor Group's long-term vision and strategic direction. It aims to conduct innovative research to get insight into future societal trends.
Study in UK: The University of Oxford and Hyundai Motor Group have joined forces for a Foresight Centre. The opening ceremony of the Foresight Centre was held yesterday at Oxford’s historic Convocation House.
Professor Soumitra Dutta, Dean of Saïd Business School said, “This is an exciting and important partnership with the Hyundai Motor Group, that will see our world-leading research and academics shape the future of business through values-based research. Hyundai Motor Group’s vision to pursue a better future for humanity very much aligns with our School’s values, and we look forward to a fruitful and mutually enriching collaboration,” as reported by Hyundai News.
Gyun Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Motor Group Business Intelligence Institute said “The automotive industry is undergoing a paradigm shift and significant changes in business environments, leading to unprecedented uncertainty. In such times, it is crucial for companies to move away from an experience-based approach and adopt a long-term perspective to identify large-scale future trends. We expect that the Foresight Centre will play a significant role in cultivating a multifaceted and comprehensive perspective on the future within organizations, known as ‘future literacy’.”
University of Oxford's OSPA to aid Hyundai mission
The university is well known for its Oxford Scenario Planning Approach (OSPA) and can provide long-term corporate directions and reshape industry perspectives. The specialized programs will be implemented to share these insights across the group. These programs include - the Oxford Futures Forum and Oxford Scenarios Programme.
Professor Rafael Ramirez will direct the Centre and Titular Associate Professor Trudi Lang will co-direct the Centre. Professor Rafael Ramirez is an expert in future scenario planning and Titular Associate Professor Trudi Lang has extensive experience and knowledge in strategic foresight.
University of Oxford ranks high in popularity, says new study
The university has been named as one of the most popular UK universities among foreign students. The study was conducted by Remitly, a digital financial services provider. In this study, the university secured 17th place with being second in the UK leader board and in the past year, it has 1.6 million searches worldwide.
