The University of St Andrews is currently accepting applications for International Excellence Scholarship. The last date to apply for the scholarship is January 30, 2025.

It is available for both full-time and part-time courses and will be given based on academic merit. International Excellence Scholarship is only for foreign students and not for UK citizens. Interested candidates can apply at the Scholarships and Funding section of My application in the scholarship and funding catalogue. Once, a candidate applies for the new course starting in AY 2025, they will get the login details for the My Application portal. Before applying for this scholarship, the candidates must allow at least two working days for processing and issuing of login credentials.

Eligibility Criteria For International Excellence Scholarship

The following are the eligibility criteria for the scholarship:

  • The applicants must be academically sound and within the top 10% of their school.
  • This scholarship is available only to students who are taking admission to the first year of an undergraduate degree.
  • The successful scholars are expected to represent the university at various events and fulfil an ambassadorial role.
  • Statement of motivation should also be provided which includes the main reasons to apply for the scholarship, how the applicant can contribute to the community and how they expect to benefit from the award.
  • The selected students need to engage with the Student Ambassadors Scheme.
  • The candidates also need to provide household income proofs including salary statement, employment and wage details, a letter from the Department of Works and Pensions, tax return, FAFSA, local government, Tax credits, Council Tax statement, DLA, PIP, annuity, pension and more such documents.
  • The students also need to provide two references which include a personal letter of recommendation of not more than 200 words and an academic recommendation.

"If, due to school policy or personal preference, you are unable to upload your references please upload a document detailing the name and email address of your referee and ask them to email the reference to ugscholarships@st-andrews.ac.uk by the scholarship deadline. The scholarships team will not be responsible for chasing references, this is the responsibility of the applicant," reads the official statement of the university.
