U.S. Mission to India announced more visa appointments for Indian students, skilled workers and tourists.
Study in US: The U.S. Mission to India opened an additional 2.5 lakh visa appointments for Indians including students, skilled workers, and tourists.
The U.S. Embassy & Consulates in India statement said these new slots will help scores of Indian applicants in facilitating the travel and timely interview which is the backbone of the U.S-India relationship through people-to-people ties.
U.S. Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti recently said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden set an ambitious goal to improve and expedite the visa process and I’m proud to say that we have delivered on that promise. Our consular teams at the embassy and four consulates work tirelessly to ensure that we meet the surging demand.”
U.S. Mission to India surpasses mark of one million nonimmigrant visa applications
For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Mission to India has crossed the mark of one million nonimmigrant visa applications. The U.S. Embassy & Consulates in India said that during the student visa season this summer, they processed a high number of visa applications and all the applicants who were students and applied for the first time were able to get an appointment at one of the consular sections around India.
In 2024, till now, more than 1.2 million Indians have travelled to the U.S., a 35% increase as against last year over the same period. Six million Indians already have a nonimmigrant visa for the USA with thousands more being issued each day, said the Mission.

For Indians interested in pursuing full-term and short-term degrees from the USA, these five steps given by EducationUSA are applicable:
