Students get to learn the real-world skills essential for thriving in a competitive job market through the state-of-the-art facilities, a focus on cutting-edge research, and a highly qualified faculty. She added that four UK Universities rank amongst the top ten globally according to the QS World Rankings 2024, as reported by India Today.
Scholarship opportunities offered by UK Universities
The UK offers various forms of financial assistance and scholarships for Indian and international students. These scholarships alleviate the financial burden for students, and some of the scholarships also cover up to 100 per cent of study expenses. The scholarships pave the way for brighter futures and global careers.
Janaka Pushpanathan said that over the past three years, the British Council has disbursed scholarships worth over GBP six million to Indian students. Various scholarship programmes provide opportunities for students seeking financial aid for specific courses or universities. Some of the prominent scholarships include the India Chevening programme, GREAT scholarships, Commonwealth scholarships, Women in STEM scholarships, and the Charles Wallace India Trust scholarships.
Indians remained the top nationality in 2023 in the UK, obtaining over a quarter of study visas-133,237, as per the data from the UK Home Office. The UK offers comprehensive one-year postgraduate programmes, leading to savings in tuition fees, rent, and living expenses.
