Porto Business School (PBS) is counted amongst Europe's leading business schools and is a part of the University of Porto, a prestigious academic institution founded in 1911. It was founded as Instituto Superior de Estudos Empresariais (ISEE) in 1988. It was renamed as Escola de Gestão do Porto (EGP) in 1999. The business school merged with Instituto de Investigação e Serviços da Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto (ISFEP) to become EGP-UPBS in 2008 and finally received its current name in 2012. Its 1-year full-time MBA programme is accredited by three well-reputed organizations -the Association of MBAs (AMBA), the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA).
Situated in Porto city of Portugal, the PBS campus is just 10 km away from the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport and 100 m from Sete Bicas LRT Metro Station. Spanning across an area of 10,000 m2, the campus features world-class infrastructure and offers an array of modern amenities to the students. With its first-rate campus, PBS is Portugal's first institution to have a building to obtain a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. The campus is home to three artificial lakes to collect and treat rainwater for bathroom use and irrigation. It features a smart lighting system and low-consumption air-conditioning throughout. It is also equipped with a number of administrative, recreational and academic facilities. It houses 21 spacious and modern classrooms, a huge auditorium, an amphitheater, a library, a coffee shop, a restaurant and 48 workrooms.
PBS offers numerous MBA, open executive and postgraduate programmes in various fields of management and business including entrepreneurship, marketing, health, tourism, communication, real estate, sales, finance, human resources, leadership and strategy. It has links with a number of reputable companies, such as Deloitte, Bosch, Amkor Technology, Ramada, Samsung, Novo Banco, EDP and Millennium.
