Q. What is MS in Analytics (MSA) program at Bowling Green State University all about?

A. The MSA program is a lock-step, professional cohort program for students looking to enter the workforce upon graduation.  Students take courses in Regression Analysis, Database Management, Decision Optimization, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, etc. The MSA program is unique in that it is multi-disciplinary, including courses from four different academic departments (Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Applied Statistics and Operations Research, Accounting and Information Systems).  The curriculum also includes a practical application each semester, an analytics project course, which provides an opportunity for students to apply what they’ve learned in a real-world setting.

Q. What are the application requirements for admission to MS in Analytics (MSA) program at Bowling Green State University?

A. To apply for admission, the university requires transcripts, GRE (300+) recommended or GMAT (550+ recommended), and TOEFL or IELTS scores.  For applicants with five or more years of related professional work experience, the GRE/GMAT may be waived. (To request the waiver, applicants should send a detailed request to msanalytics@bgsu.edu.)  The university also requires three letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, and a resume.  The MSA program requires prerequisite coursework including at least one college-level course in calculus, computer programming, and statistics.  These prerequisites may also be satisfied with significant professional experience. Candidates are required to apply early to provide enough time for the USA Student Visa to process. Kindly note that the university considers all application materials as part of the decision-making process including resume, undergraduate record, work experience, and test scores, so a GRE score of 289 would not eliminate you from consideration for admission
