MBBS in China

Study in China: The University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in a joint notice issued on March 25, 2022, has cautioned Indian students against seeking admission to universities in the People’s Republic of China. The return of the highly transmissible Omicron variant of the coronavirus along with the country’s approach to hard localized lockdowns has left China virtually cut off from the rest of the outside world for over two years. Currently (March 2022) as many as 13 cities are under strict lockdown.

During these unprecedented times, a few Universities in the People’s Republic of China have started issuing notices for admission to various degree programmes for the current and upcoming academic years, which are to be conducted online. Candidates should note that as per the existing rules, UGC and the AICTE do NOT recognize such degree courses done only in the online mode without prior approval. Students are advised to exercise due diligence in choosing where to pursue higher education to avoid further problems in employment or higher studies.
