University of Birmingham has the best faculty. They are knowledgeable and expert in their field.
Tips: The faculty is the major highlight of the university. Everyone was an expert in their own fields. Their ability to blend theoretical concepts with practical applications made learning engaging. The program offered numerous hands-on projects that allowed us to apply what we learned in real-world scenarios. The feature of assigning a personal tutor to every student helped everyone get the academic guidance and support they needed. Besides, there are numerous events, activities and seminars histye by the college for students so do participate in it. Try to connect with the alumni before joining and ask them about the course, classes, internship and college. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Great faculty, diverse and vibrant campus.
Tips: Embrace the expected. You will undoubtedly be surprised at the hidden gems within the people and place at this college. People here are known to be friendly and fun-loving, but they are also open-minded and accepting. Don't be afraid to reach out and make new friends. The expertise of the faculty and the comprehensive support I received from the department played a crucial role in my academic and personal growth. I am grateful for my department's unwavering assistance and I am thankful that I was given invaluable support by the faculty throughout my academic journey. Overall, I am very much satisfied with the course and the university.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job search can be a marathon, not a sprint. It's easy to get discouraged when interviews seem to lead nowhere, but it's crucial to remember that landing a job is not an impossible feat. Hope is a powerful fuel that drives us forward, even when facing setbacks.

3.3
The best experience for a student.
Tips: There definitely was a cultural shift for me. But nothing most people can't handle. It took me a while to learn certain things that India didn't teach us. I got a commonwealth scholarship of 2000 pounds. About the university, the infrastructure and technology blew my mind. It is the perfect place to study.
Likes (Safety): Birmingham is a very safe city. Even through the night it is mostly alive. One thing to keep in mind is to avoid the canals. In the year and a half that I lived there, I did not have any bad experience. As long as we don't go out of line, I'd say we will have no trouble.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): They have no placement drives like the ones we have in India. We have to look for jobs ourselves. Given that the UK is in a recession, it is very difficult to find jobs in the country. They prefer hiring a fresher who is from the UK or EU rather than someone for whom they would have to sponsor a visa.

MSc in Data Science - Batch of 2024
4.4
It was a good experience with great faculty.
Tips: There was definitely a cultural shift. The people, food, and traditions are definitely different here and it will take some time to get used to all the changes but it is manageable. It can be overwhelming at times. For data science, since it's a demanding course they do not provide any kind of scholarship so that's a sad thing.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a crazy amount of restaurants and cuisines for all kinds of people and cultures. The prices are alright but some of the restaurants do offer students discounts so that is a good thing. The food is good and you basically have millions of options to choose from.
Dislikes (Value for money): I really liked the campus and the facilities were good. I would recommend trying to get a job at the university as it is definitely beneficial. The university shares a lot of resources so there is no need to invest in any kind of personal resources. There are lots of career fairs and opportunities but it's difficult for international students to get a decent full-time job.

Good university with humble experiences.
Tips: Students should be in good touch with their professors, they would be the ones helping you and mentoring you when in need. Do your best in all assignments and don't bother about marking as that's something I have still not understood. Take out time to socialize and network. Overall the university is a pretty place and has lots of study space and socialising opportunities.
Likes (Indian Food): Being a vegetarian I can vouch that it won't be a struggle at all. There is one Indian store near the university and also other bigger stores that have most of the day-to-day needs. Plenty of Indian restaurant options with student discounts are there too. Cooking yourself is the best thing to do however once a week eating a salad bowl from the university won't do any harm to your pockets.
Dislikes (Internships): No support for internships for post graduate programs as the programs are designed for only one year leaving no time to do much outside of the curriculum. With my programme being niche, it's even harder to land a perfect internship or part-time. However, I would still say there are opportunities but limited so you need to be really proactive in finding and proving yourself.

Excellent place to learn and decent to earn.
Tips: Being an international student, it's pretty hard to adopt to these life style at the beginning. But slowly we will manage to learn everything, we make new friends. Friends are like family here for any individual who's staying abroad. You need to be financially strong back at the home to survive abroad incase of no work while studying.
Likes (Student Life): There many student organizations and societies that one can involve to entertain. Movie nights takes plevery week on campus. Many events and careers fair happens at regular intervals on campus. As an international student, did not missed any events or festivals here.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very less opportunities compared to student ratio. The Work opportunity is flexible and one can manage academics and work life on equilibrium. Mininum national wage per hour is 10.98 pounds. There are some opportunities off-campus also, but you need to be very lucky to get those in this competition.
