UG courses

To begin the application process, undergraduate international students must apply through the Coalition Application portal or the Common Application portal. Applicants need to fill out the respective form on the chosen portal and pay the fee as per the chosen program. Do note that only one of the portals should be used to submit an application.

PG courses

For graduate programs, international applicants must apply directly to the university through its online portal. Each graduate school has a separate portal for application. Visit the corresponding college website of your preferred area of study and apply to that specific course.  

Step 1: New users need to create an account on the portal: official website link

Step 2: Select your area of interest and your preferred term. Add the required details.

Step 3: Complete the application by adding all personal details and academic qualifications.

Step 4: Add the supplemental documents such as transcripts and SOP.

Lastly, verify the complete application and pay the requisite application fee.

There is an application fee of USD 75 for admission to an undergraduate course at American University.
