- The Masters of Science in Data Science and Analytics (MSDSA) is open to students with a Bachelor's degree that have a strong interest in pursuing a programming approach to solving problems using data.
- Applicants must have an acceptable baccalaureate degree
- GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 30 semester (45 quarter) units attempted for majors directly related to Data Science (Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics). A GPA of a 3.2 or higher is required for other majors
- If students do not meet the GPA thresholds, their application will still be considered. Be sure to explain in their Statement of Purpose why they believe their GPA is not an accurate indicator of their ability to succeed in the MSDSA program

Tips: Students should know that CSU Chico is a good choice for those seeking affordable education with a good academic environment. The campus is well organized, with good facilities for Computer Science students. However, since it's located in a smaller city, students may need to explore options in nearby cities. Overall, I am very satisfied with the course, college and the country.
Likes (Value for money): CSU Chico offers an excellent balance of quality education and affordability. The tuition fees for the MS in Computer Science programme are relatively reasonable compared to many other universities in the United States, making it an attractive option for international students.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Chico offers a few Indian restaurants, but choices are limited and do not fully capture the diversity of Indian cuisine. In the locality, there are a few Indian restaurants like Priya Indian Cuisine and Taj Indian Cuisine which are good.

- The Applied Analytics (AA) track can be thought of as a breadth or applied track, where the focus is for students to collaborate closely with researchers or companies in a domain specific field. Students in this track could be employed in positions where they are the “data person” on a team.
- This track may appeal more to students from a broad range of majors and domain interests such as nutrition, agriculture, medicine, bioinformatics, journalism, political science and even the digital humanities.
- The Machine Learning (ML) track provides deeper and more technical training on the mathematical and computational underpinnings of the statistical, machine learning and artificial intelligence models being used.
