History
Penn State University was founded in 1855. In the early 1900s, the university introduced Co-operative Education and additional outreach programming. Furthermore, the university started offering systematic advanced-degree work in 1922 with the formation of the Graduate School. In 1967, a College of Medicine and Teaching Hospital was established. Then, in 1989, the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport became an affiliate of the university. In 2000, Penn State and Dickinson School of Law merged.
