How to Update Mobile Number in Aadhar Card?
The process of updating mobile numbers in Aadhar is an offline process. You must follow the steps below to update your mobile number.
Step 1 – Book an appointment at the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra online.
Visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra, which is listed on the website.
Step 2 - Fill out the Aadhaar Update Form at the Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Center. You can also download and fill out the form in advance from the UIDAI website.
Step 3 – Furnish the proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA) documents. You may also need to provide a valid mobile number as proof of updating your mobile number. You can refer to the UIDAI website for the list of accepted documents.
Step 4 – At the enrollment centre, you will undergo biometric authentication, including fingerprint and iris scans.
Step 5 – Submit the completed form to the enrollment operator. They will enter your information into the system and initiate the update request for your mobile number.
Step 6 - You will receive an acknowledgement slip with an Update Request Number (URN) after submitting your update request. You can track the status of your update request through URN.
Step 7 – UIDAI will process your mobile number update request, and you will receive a confirmation.
Step 8 – Check the status of your Aadhaar update request by visiting the UIDAI website and using the URN provided on your acknowledgement slip.
Step 9 – After your update is approved, download your updated Aadhaar card online from the UIDAI website.
Step 10 – After updating your mobile number, verify it by receiving an OTP (One-Time Password) sent to the new number linked to your UID.

How to Verify Your Mobile Number on UIDAI?
Verifying your mobile number ensures that you are the legitimate holder of the Aadhaar card being updated. It adds an extra layer of authentication and security to prevent unauthorized updates or changes to your Aadhaar information.
Below is the step-wise process to verify your mobile number –
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
Step 2: Scroll Down. Locate the “Verify Email/Mobile Number” option. Click it.
Step 3: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar and registered mobile numbers as prompted.
Step 4: Enter the CAPTCHA.
Step 5: Click on the “Send OTP” button. You will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
Step 6: Check your phone for the OTP, then enter it in the space on the website.
Step 7: Once you’ve entered the OTP, click the “Verify OTP” button.
Step 8: After clicking “Verify OTP,” the website will display the status of your mobile number verification. If your mobile number is successfully verified, you will receive a confirmation message.
Step 9: Download or print the verification confirmation for your records.
Step 10: Ensure you have logged out of your Aadhaar account.
