Apple WWDC 2023 Predictions – AR/VR Headset and 15 Inch MacBook Air

WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) is Apple’s annual developer conference to showcase its next-generation products. From mixed reality headsets to M2 ultra chipset, there’s a lot that developers are expecting. The blog has picked the top 5 potential announcements in WWDC 2023.

Apple is all set for its annual developer meet, WWDC – 2023 (Worldwide Developer Conference), which will take place next week from 5th June to 9th June. Every year, Apple organizes WWDC to showcase new software and technologies for its products, including iOS, iPads, macOS, and more. Like last year, the program will be organized online, but a few developers, students, and social media influencers are invited to Apple Park for the event.

Apple Mixed Reality Headset

The much-awaited announcement that can be made at WWDC this year is Apple’s Mixed Reality Headset, also called AR/VR Headset. The company plans to pack the headset with various features such as games, fitness services, and apps for reading books in virtual reality.

More Features to Expect:

• It may be powered with Apple Silicon Chipset powering the Macs.
• It may offer only gesture-based control with no physical controller.
• The headset will have an external battery pack to wear on the waist.
• The expected price of the headset is $3000, which is quite higher than PSV2 and Meta Quest Pro.

15-inch MacBook Air

Apple could reveal a 15-inch MacBook Air at WWDC 2023, boasting a bigger screen than the present 13-inch variant. It might offer varied CPU and GPU setups powered by the M2 chipset like its predecessor. The key selling point would be its superior resolution, potentially using OLED technology. Though a bit pricier than the 13-inch model, this larger MacBook Air aims to serve customers wanting a bigger laptop without the extras found in costlier alternatives.

More Features to Expect:

• Expected to have a thin and light design similar to the current 13-inch MacBook Air
• It may have a mini-LED display with a 2880 x 1800 pixels resolution.
• It may have two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A port, and a headphone jack.
• The expected price of a 15-inch MacBook Air is around $1200 – $1500.

iOS 17

iOS 17 is all set to be announced at WWDC 2023; it will bring performance improvements to the iPhone.The update will enhance the control centre, dynamic island, spotlight search, camera, and health apps. Following the announcement beta version will be released to install and test the software.

macOS 14

With the recent iPhone operating system update, Apple may announce a new version of macOS 14 in WWDC 2023 to improve performance and privacy. The biggest expected feature is to get every app and feature to work across all of Apple’s devices.

• A new design language similar to that was introduced in iOS16 and iPadOS16.
• Performance improvements, such as support of the new M2 chips.
• The new multitasking interface has features like improved window management and support for multiple desktops.
• New feature for developers to make it easier for the developers to create apps for macOS.

M2 Ultra Chipset

M2 Ultra is the next-generation chip based on the M2 architecture and will be a scaled-up version of M2 Max chips. It is rumoured to be used in the next Mac Pro computers and is expected to offer significant performance improvements over M2 max chips.
