146 Indian students receive prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 2024 -2025

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's program 2024 is currently in its 20th year. The program offers prestigious international master's created and imparted by a group of higher education institutions. Erasmus Mundus scholarship 2024 -2025 covers a living allowance, travel and visa. It is offered to best-ranked students worldwide.

For the year 2024, Indians became one of the top recipients of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship. 146 Indian students comprising 75 women and 71 men have been selected for the prestigious scholarships. These students will get an opportunity to pursue a two-year master's programme in Europe for the academic year 2024.

"Worldwide, 2603 students from 137 countries have been awarded scholarships this year for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s degree, which offers a study programme jointly delivered by an international consortium of higher education institutions," said the European Union delegation to India and Bhutan.

HE Hervé Delphin, Ambassador of the European Union to India said, “Over 80,000 Indian students are studying in Europe, reflecting a growing appreciation for the continent's diverse academic offerings, rich cultural heritage, and unparalleled opportunities for personal and professional growth. The fact that India has been as top recipient of the Erasmus+ scholarship since its inception, despite its competitive nature, speaks volumes about the caliber of Indian students. This is the start of an enriching and transformative experience for them. As they are about to study and live a unique experience in an EU country, they will also become ambassadors of the partnership between the EU and India. I wish them every success”.








Erasmus Mundus Scholarship enters 20th year

This year also marks the scholarship's 20th year, which as per the statement of Delegation of the European Union to India and Bhutan is a milestone that underscores the positive effects on higher education institutions, students and countries beyond the EU. Since its beginning in 2004, more than 2000 Indian students have received this scholarship which makes India the largest beneficiary of the program.







The selected students will be able to study and do research at a minimum of two universities in different European countries which will provide them joint or double degrees in pharmaceuticals, engineering, quantum, sustainability, data, and various STEM and social science disciplines.

All Indian recipients are from the best institutes of India and they will get to start their studies in the following EU Member States - Austria (2), Greece (1), The Netherlands (2), Poland (2), Hungary (1), Finland (8), Czech Republic (5), Sweden (4), Latvia (3), France (31), Portugal (19), Belgium (17), Italy (15), Spain (14), and Germany (9).
