To support Indian students in their study abroad journey, DBS Bank India has introduced ‘DBS Study Abroad Total Assist’. It is a holistic solution that addresses key concerns of students and their parents including the bank requirements, protection against unexpected costs, and support for managing finances.

DBS Bank has introduced this initiative after recognizing the increasing study abroad trends among Indian students. Ministry of External Affairs data has revealed that in 2024, there were over 1.3 million Indian students studying abroad, this figure is nearly doubled over the last six years.

DBS Study Abroad Total Assist Benefits

Same-day, zero-fee international remittances empower students and parents as they allow parents to transfer funds abroad without incurring bank fees and hidden costs.

Student travel insurance to cover lost baggage, unexpected events of illness, and accidents with protection up to USD 1 million.







Education loans: To ease the financial burden on the family, the bank is offering education loans at around 10.25% per annum through Credila Financial Services Limited.

Zero forex markup on overseas spending: For cost-effective transactions abroad without forex markup, DBS bank offers DBS Treasures VISA Infinite Debit Card.

Remote overseas bank account opening: Students will be able to open overseas bank accounts remotely and will get a debit card before going abroad for a smooth transaction.

The entire banking process will be digital and paperless and will be provided through the digibank app.

“Through its premium banking offering, DBS Treasures, the bank offers a range of exclusive lifestyle privileges and signature benefits. Recently, the bank announced an enhanced DBS Treasures proposition for its customers in India, leveraging its strong presence across Asia. Designed specifically for NRIs and HNIs, customers can now avail premium banking in all of DBS’s six key markets in Asia as being a DBS Treasures customer in one market gives them the same privileges in all DBS markets. The offering also includes preferential FX rates for international fund transfers, waived service fees, and zero ATM withdrawal fees. These benefits are available to customers across six key DBS markets: Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, India, and China,” reads the official statement of the bank.
