Harvard Marshall Scholars 2025 Details
Doan-Nguyen ’25 is passionate about journalism. “It’s the chance of a lifetime, and I did not expect to receive it in the slightest. I just remember receiving the call and being so overwhelmed with gratitude," said Doan-Nguyen.
“There’s so much knowledge and innovation and ways of thought and approaching the world that are excluded because of the way in which we value certain voices more than others. I’m trying to help break that down in the work that I do," added Doan-Nguyen.
Lin ’25 said, “We’re finding that if you target these cargo receptors, you can clear misfolded protein in each of these diseases, suggesting that these different misfolded proteins are trapped through this common mechanism. Just by targeting these common pathways, you can resolve many different rare diseases."
Nasher ’25 wants every American to have quality education."She’ll spend her first year as a Marshall Scholar studying education at the University of Oxford, where she plans to do a comparative study on how primary and K-12 education systems in the U.K. and the U.S. shape the experiences of people in low-income, urban Yemeni communities," said the official statement of Harvard University.
Three Indian-Americans Wins 2025 Marshall Scholarship
Among those 36 selected for the prestigious postgraduate scholarship in UK are also three Indian-Americans. Tej Patel and Sridatta Teerdhala are from the University of Pennsylvania and Pratyush Seshadri is from the University of North Carolina.
“Patel is studying molecular biology, healthcare management & policy, and statistics through the Life Sciences and Management (LSM) Program. Inspired by his experiences as an advocate and volunteer, Tej seeks to make healthcare systems more equitable and cost-effective," said the official website of Marshall Scholarships, as reported by Indicanews.
About Seshadri, the website reads, “He has completed internships conducting macroeconomic research and working in logistical supply chain in Nairobi, Kenya, and Johannesburg, South Africa, respectively. He is actively involved in UNC’s Men’s Varsity Squash team and played for the University of Oxford’s Men’s Varsity Soccer and Basketball Team, as a visiting student. He has found a passion for stand-up comedy, and has performed in London, New York, and Raleigh.”
“As a Marshall Scholar, Sridatta will spend his first year at the University of Cambridge pursuing an MPhil in Medical Science. There, he will research under Dr. Raza Ali, leveraging multidimensional molecular tissue imaging and computational analysis to advance innovative approaches for diagnosing and treating cancer. After a year at Cambridge, Sridatta intends to spend a year at the London School of Economics and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, pursuing an MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing to learn how to translate innovative cancer diagnostics and treatments to low- and middle-income countries,” added the website.
