Technical University Of Dortmund Germany, IIT Bombay Ink MoU To Promote Students Exchange
Study in Germany: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the end of November to promote students exchange between the Technical University of Dortmund and IIT Bombay.
The delegation of the Technical University of Dortmund Germany visited India and signed an agreement with IIT Bombay in Mumbai to promote student exchange and start cooperation in various fields between the two universities.
The 14-member delegation from the university included students, researchers, a representative from the International Office, and representatives of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer.
"The collaboration in the field of entrepreneurship was particularly in focus: TU students from the Departments of Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Business and Economics, who are participating in the interdisciplinary certificate program “Digital Technology Management” as part of the Dlab program, attended a workshop at the Desai Sethi School of Entrepreneurship at IIT Bombay and discussed innovative approaches with researchers and students there," reads the official statement of the Technical University of Dortmund.

Prof. Milind Atrey, Deputy Director at IIT Bombay and Prof. Tessa Flatten, Vice President of International Affairs signed the agreement. The MoU was signed to expand scientific cooperation across all disciplines and facilitate the exchange of doctoral candidates and other students.
The delegation trip was in line with the university's strategic goal to attract young talent from India and further expand its relationships with Indian partners.
In recent years, the number of Indian students at TU Dortmund University has increased by three times and now this is the biggest group of international students at the university. 391 Indian students enrolled at TU Dortmund University in 2023/24 as compared to 124 five years ago.
"The new agreement with IIT Bombay is intended to enable students of both universities to spend semesters and years at each other's institutions in the future. A similar student exchange cooperation already exists with the "Indian Institute of Technology Madras," added the official statement.
Technical University of Dortmund Germany: Latest Updates
The university is planning to build a big photovoltaic system to cover 5% of its own electricity needs.
"Next year, a photovoltaic system with around 3,800 solar modules will be built on the 14,000 m² open space. The planned system has a capacity of around 1.65 MWp, making it ten times more powerful than all five existing photovoltaic systems at the university combined," added the statement.
