Top UK Universities For Higher Education: QS World University Rankings 2025 was released this month, in which Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) of the US retained its first position and Imperial College London was in second place worldwide, making it the number one university in the UK.

Every year, many international students including Indians go to the UK to pursue higher education. The country offers a diverse culture to student, high living standards, and quality education. The best universities in the UK also offer scholarships to deserving candidates.

Top 5 UK Universities For Higher Education

Following are the five best UK universities for international students to study abroad:

  1. Imperial College London: It was ranked at no.2 in the QS World University Rankings 2025. The institutes offer four-year integrated Master's and three-year Bachelor's courses in engineering and natural sciences and degrees within the Imperial College Business School and School of Medicine. It provides a total of 67 undergraduate programs and 155 postgraduate programs.
  2. University of Oxford: It was placed at no. 3 overall. It is one of the most ancient universities and does not have any main campus, its buildings and facilities are scattered around the medieval city centre. There are four academic divisions including Mathematical, Physical, Humanities, and Life Sciences; Medical Sciences; and Social Sciences. Oxford University offers 62 undergraduate programs, and 347 postgraduate programs.
  3. University of Cambridge: It was positioned at no. 5. It is one of the oldest universities, apart from its famous colleges and university buildings, the museums and collections also provide exciting insight into some of the scholarly activities. There are a total of 31 colleges in the university which offers 32 undergraduate and 285 postgraduate programs.
  4. UCL: It is placed at no. 9. There are various scholarships available for postgraduate international students including UCL Global Masters Scholarship and UCL Masters Bursary. There were two new scholarships also launched this year including UCL East London Scholarship and UCL India Excellence Scholarship. UCL offers 403 undergraduate and 624 postgraduate courses.
  5. The University of Edinburgh: It was positioned at 27 worldwide. There are 381 undergraduate courses with 523 postgraduate programs. It has nearly 17725 international students. The university offers around 400 degrees across sixty different subjects including joint degrees.
