A private college, Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology is considered to be one of the premier institutions for engineering and aviation training. It was originally founded in New Jersey in the year 1932 before it moved to New York City in the year 1940. In 2004, the College of Aeronautics officially became Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology.
