B.Sc. in Mathematics - Batch of 2025

Review by the student of The American College.
Placements: Actually, placements are good and enough, but the actual amount of applications is high for admissions. Some students are selected by the admission committee by a merit-based system. MNCs like Wipro and IIT offer placements in final-year.
Infrastructure: The American College infrastructure is huge and enormous. In Madurai, The American College is very good in infrastructure. People from various places have good opinions of this college. The college has many facilities like food for long travelers, Wi-Fi for students, canteens, etc.
Faculty: High-qualified and experienced faculty members teach us to get high marks. Their behavior is good. Semester exams are good for some papers and a little bit tough for some papers. The course curriculum is affiliated with the government college, and its own syllabus is framed in the college.
Other: Overall, performance and teaching are very excellent in the college. Department functions, Pongal celebrations, and Christmas celebrations are conducted for students. Scholarships have been provided for aided students by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

B.Sc. in Computer Science - Batch of 2025
Offered by Arul Anandar College

Absolutely good college because of the staff.
Placements: Last year, around 45% of students got placed successfully in our college. There are no popular recruiters in my college. They have only insurance-related companies to participate in the campus drive. The top role provided by our college through the placement is HR. The highest salary package offered is 5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA.
Infrastructure: Overall campus scenarios are good. They provide 3 computer labs for UG and PG. We have more than 300 computers in working condition. There is a library with more than 1,000 books across multiple categories. The hostel experience is average according to me because of the food. Sometimes, they provide good and sometimes not.
Faculty: Our course teachers are good. They have the knowledge to teach us. They are well-qualified. The course curriculum is not good. It does not make us industry-ready because of the lack of updating of the course. Computer orientation is growing day by day. Semester exams are not too tough. It is a sufficient amount of testing qualities.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2026
Offered by Virudhunagar Hindu Nadars' Senthikumara Nadar College
3.2
3Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Really affordable price but not having value for education.
Placements: Nearly 30% of students were placed per year. Packages range from the lowest 12k to up to 60k. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Dmart, TMB, SBI, Maruti Suzuki, etc. Up to 3% of students are placed in top companies, and the rest in mid companies. Top roles include management head, clerk, employee, office manager, etc.
Infrastructure: My B.Com Department has a lot of faculty and some discomforts. Facilities include a depth library, free Wi-Fi, computer lab, spacious classrooms, cooling water, and normal water supply. Discomforts include the electric fans that make students sweat. Sometimes bad smells affect students. The food quality of the hostel is average but eatable. The canteen food has no much more menu, and with only one canteen for the whole college, it creates huge queues and discomfort. Medical facilities are good, and sports events are conducted regularly.
Faculty: The teaching qualities are well, good, and caring. There are many well-experienced teachers in my department. I am in my 2nd year but still haven't gone for an industrial visit. The pass mark was 40 in semester exams, and the questions were tougher, making students fail and struggle with arrears.
Other: I chose the course only for the lower fees compared to other courses because I have no money to study better courses. Providing industrial visits may help improve knowledge in a practical environment. Many events are conducted, about 20-25 per year. The crowd of the college is huge, nearly 4k to 5k students in a single campus. They do not provide scholarships but help to avail scholarships from the government.

Life in Madurai Kamaraj University.
Placements: Actually, most of them get placed in IT sector. The starting package will be around Rs 20,000 per month. Top recruiting companies are GIS companies. Top roles offered are GIS engineering, data scientist, data entry jobs, etc. This course has top jobs.
Infrastructure: It has big infrastructure better than any government case. They have NAAC accreditation A+ and has one of the good infrastructure. But hostel lacks some facilities like proper mess, toilets, etc. This university canteen has good food like idly, vada, sambar, chutneys, etc., which are very tasty.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and qualified. They have good knowledge and speak teaching quality. The curriculum is very relevant, and pushes us to the modern world. Semester exams are the easiest especially the practicals are so damn easy. Tension-free life in this department and university.

B.Com. in Computer Application - Batch of 2024
Offered by Virudhunagar Hindu Nadars' Senthikumara Nadar College
2.2
1Placements2Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
Absolutely satisfied because of faculty and college friends.
Placements: 50% of students are placed in the B.Com course, Computer course, and other additional courses. No recruitment, only TNMB selects students from the B.Com course. No internships in college. Other courses have an 80-hour internship and require submitting a project and certificate.
Infrastructure: Yes, facilities and students are using Wi-Fi in the library. Most students and staff use good quality study materials in the library. The canteen is okay, but there is no quality food, and much of it is wasted and thrown in the dustbin. The B.Com with Computer Application SF department classroom is very poorly maintained.
Faculty: The teachers are good, but one or two teachers do not support students in class very well. There are 6 semesters in the college UG course, with 1 semester consisting of 90 working days. Teaching is done using Xerox papers, and no one uses a book that is fully useful for computer applications. There are very special teachers in our college.

Strong placement and internship opportunities with excellent infrastructure.
Placements: In my course, approximately 60% of students got successfully placed in reputable organizations. Top recruiters for our course are primarily from IT-based companies. Internships require at least a 50% completion rate. The leading roles aligned with our course focus on mapping and rely heavily on satellite technology.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in our department and the library, but there will be times when classrooms do not have Wi-Fi access. The quality of the hostel is very poor. The canteen has a limited selection of food options. Medical facilities are available on a nearby campus, and there are few sports activities offered at our campus.
Faculty: Teachers are enhancing our curriculum to ensure high quality. This course is relevant and engaging. The second year can be quite challenging, with a passing grade requirement of 50%. The quality of teachers is good. This course is based on satellite technology, which makes students very excited to learn.
