The oldest Medical College in Asia.
Placements: We are a total of 180 students. The lowest package is from 7-8L per annum, and there's no upper limit; it can go up to 20L or more. Government jobs and private hospitals hire. Every student has a compulsory internship. Roles include doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, MS teacher, dentist, etc.
Infrastructure: Lecture halls are new. There are 3 girls' hostels: 2 old and 1 new. 3 hostels for boys, separate. There is proper water supply, light, and security. The college has a huge library, no Wi-Fi, good classrooms, and a good hospital. It's probably the only government hospital that provides free CT scans and MRIs.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good, and teachers are strict. The course is CBME-based. It makes students ready for healthcare. Semesters are difficult to clear. Regular study is required to pass. Timely submission of assignments and attendance is needed.

Amazing faculty.
Placements: Our batch, which started in 2018, has a strength of 20. It comprises three years of studying with one year of internship. It has been good in practical as well as theoretical ways, with good infrastructure and good faculty. The internship was carried out for one year, in which we were placed in different modalities.
Infrastructure: The course has been for four years. Six semesters with one year of internship in the college. The one required can apply for a hostel if they stay far away from college to manage the college timing. College usually begins at 9 to 5. The lectures were carried out in a systematic manner.
Faculty: The faculty has been excellent in teaching with proper modern technology to use in the teaching aids as well as practical handling. Internal exams were held twice in 6 months, but final university exams were carried out with a passing percentage of 50%.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) - Batch of 2026

Review of BPT course at Goa medical college.
Placements: With 22 students in each batch, we have 4 years + 6 months of compulsory internship and 1 year of bond. After completing this, we can even work in another private hospital and even open our own physiotherapy clinic. Nowadays, we see that physiotherapists have a wide scope as they help all age groups with rehabilitation after a particular injury.
Infrastructure: The campus is very beautiful, and the library has all the books required for the course. We have classrooms with smart boards. Physiotherapy OPD has all the required equipment, like shoulder wheel, static cycle, wall bars, pulleys, etc. There are 2 canteens, and the food served by them is really good & healthy .
Faculty: The teaching faculty is quite good. Most of them have Ph.D. degrees. They teach us using smart boards, provide us with PowerPoints and notes, and conduct regular tests and seminars, which helps a lot. We have clinical postings from the 2nd year itself; we get clinical experience. Attendance should be at least 75% to be eligible for exams. Passing percentage is 50% in each subject, i.e., practical and theory separately. We should get 50%.
Other: first thing is that physiotherapists play a very important role in today's society. Many people complain of back pain, neck pain, etc. For such patients, physiotherapists helps them a lot to be relieved. Some people are still not aware of this field. Plexus is the major event organized by our college; besides that, there are many other events and sports competitions.

Medical college of Goa - the city of beaches .
Placements: This is the government medical college. After completing the course, you got an MBBS degree. You can do private practice or further go for a PG seat. It provides an internship with a stipend of 20,000. Each and every student has to do an internship at this college; there is no need to go anywhere else for an internship.
Infrastructure: Good facilities are provided by the college. They have lecture halls, an auditorium, a big library, a play ground, and a and a separate hostel for girls and boys. A good number of faculty members are needed to provide better education and knowledge; they look upon each and every student.
Faculty: There are a good number of faculty members who can fulfill the requirements of all students. All teachers are good; they teach very well and are very punctual; they never skip any classes. Although the MBBS curriculum is tough, you have to go to college every day from 9 to 5. They give less holiday compared to others.
Other: They organize various social events and sports and also celebrates festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Christmas, etc.

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (B.O.T) - Batch of 2024

Good course for job opportunities.
Placements: This course provides a 6-month internship program, and they also pay for it. Students can pursue post-graduation after completing this course.
Infrastructure: The hostel infrastructure is good; each room is equipped with one B.Ed, one cupboard, a chair, and a table. Hostels are clean and well-maintained. Hostel fees are INR 4500 per semester. A mess is available, but the food quality is not quite good.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful, and they prepare students well for exams. All faculty members have different teaching strategies, and they all hold Ph.D. degrees. Exams are challenging, but proper study makes them easier. Monthly tests are conducted to help students improve their marks.
Other: This course has a lot of scope, and graduates can work in various departments. I chose this course because I have an interest in mental health subjects. I think better classrooms should be provided for the students.

Best college if you want to enjoy your MBBS.
Placements: As it is a medical college, there is no such thing as placement. After graduation, you become a doctor and can practice anywhere in India, or you could do a PG and earn even more as specialization helps in bringing more patients, or you could go into research as well.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not extravagant like that in private colleges but they have air conditioning in the lecture hall, which has a capacity of 300 people. There is also an auditorium for events. Hostel buildings and rooms are great. There is no time for boys hostels, but there is time for girls hostels.
Faculty: Faculty are super sharp in there subjects and also very cool, as compared to orthodox professors in other medical colleges. You can freely talk to them and get their help easily. They support the students in doing various kinds of research and activities.
