  • We will be looking at the key developments and developers of Mathematics from the time of ancient Babylon and traversing through Egypt and the Greeks looking at the work of the Pythagoreans, Euclid and Archimedes along with their fascination with the primes
  • This will be followed by considering the contributions of Indian and Arab scholars and how they influenced the development of Mathematics during the Enlightenment
  • We will also follow the 'footsteps-of many of the great 'Giants-of Mathematics including those of: Newton, Gauss and Laplace
  • This course aims to show that the development of Mathematics was iterative and dependent on basic human needs
